Stay
Plateau bungalows, valley cabins, family villas and coastal hotels — and how to tell which one actually suits your trip.
Almost every photo of Ayder looks the same: a wooden cabin in mist. What actually differs is where the cabin sits — on the plateau itself, down in the Fırtına Valley, in Çamlıhemşin town, or on the coast in Rize city. That single choice decides how much driving, how much fog, and how much noise your family gets.
Staying in Ayder itself puts you walking distance from the waterfall, the thermal baths and evening food, but the centre is busy in July and August and the last kilometres are steep. Fırtına Valley and Çamlıhemşin sit lower, warmer and quieter, with river sound instead of crowds — you simply drive up to Ayder for the day.
Many bungalows are built on slopes and reached by short stair paths, not level driveways. If you travel with large suitcases, a stroller or grandparents, ask us for a stay with parking beside the door before you book anything. Higher plateau houses such as Pokut and Sal need a suitable vehicle and are not ideal for a first night after a long flight.
Rize is green because it rains. Expect cloud and short showers even in summer, cool nights on the plateau, and real cold with possible snow from late autumn. Heating, a fireplace and a covered terrace matter more here than a big garden.
Hello Rize is a guide and request desk, not a booking engine. You send guests, dates and what matters to you; we come back with what is genuinely available and let the property confirm the details. We never publish a price we cannot stand behind.

Small wooden units on the plateau slopes, usually one or two bedrooms, often with a jacuzzi and a valley-facing window. Best for couples and small families who want to be inside Ayder.
2–4 guests
Simpler timber houses higher up or deeper in the valley, built for quiet and views rather than polish. Expect fog, a wood stove and genuinely dark, silent nights.
Quiet, low light pollution
Two or more bedrooms, a real kitchen, level access where possible and space for children to be loud. This is the category we push hardest for GCC families travelling with grandparents.
6+ guests possible
Whole-house rentals with enclosed outdoor space, sometimes a heated or indoor pool. Privacy is the point — most are outside the busy plateau centre, so plan on driving to dinner.
Privacy first
Along the Fırtına river between Çamlıhemşin and Ayder. Warmer than the plateau, easy road access, and the water is loud at night — which most guests end up liking.
Easier road access
Coastal, serviced and predictable: lifts, breakfast, pharmacies and shops nearby. The sensible pick for a late arrival, an early departure, or a night before flying home.
Best for arrival nights
Ayder if you want to walk to the waterfall and thermal baths and don't mind crowds; Çamlıhemşin or the valley if you want quiet, easier roads and a warmer night.
Small bungalows rarely do. For six or more people we usually suggest a villa, a two-bedroom family cabin, or two adjacent units at the same property.
No. Rates move with season and length of stay, so we check with the property and reply with a real figure instead of showing a number that changes at check-in.
